Easter/holy Saturday (remember that oh ye secularites and fly by nights) I brought Siobhan (here for the
easter hols) to visit the quaint, almost unspoiled, unchanged by time village
of the Bunong called Dak Dam very close
to the border with Vietnam. And there in the middle of the village was the type
of Catholic church the new pope seems to champion, small, poor and among the
people. I have no idea how active it is but if small is beautiful is the new
mantra (see Buddhist reference) for the pope he might include this on his
itinerary when he gets going.
This morning I brought her to a small Buddhist temple site
on a hill overlooking Sen Monorom, my home town for my Cambodian sojourn. This photo is shot from the temple and that
large brown strip is/was the air runway. Until recently, since the road was
built from the capital it could take a couple of days to travel here in the wet
season so flying in was more efficient. Now with the new road it is unused.
These next pictures show Siobhan considering the temple.
Will I go in, sure isn't one holy place as good as another, and sure dont I do yoga and all that kind of stuff

An go on, in you go
and with a little encouragement she entered it. So the feast of the resurrection was observed in a very oriental and ecumenical fashion
